Jackson County Cultural Coalition 2019 Grantees
The Jackson County Cultural Coalition Board awarded a total of $29,000 in grants to the following Jackson County organizations for 2019 projects and activities:
Anima Mundi - $2,000
For a series of concerts featuring Syrian-American pianist Malek Jandali.
Ashland Children’s Theatre - $2,700
Supporting the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre - $2,500
Supporting a cultural knowledge and outreach dance project.
Craterian Performances - $1,800
For a student internship program with the Teen Musical Theater of Oregon.
Historic Jacksonville - $2,400
Supporting the “Access History” project at the Beekman Bank Museum and Beekman House.
Jackson County Library Foundation - $3,000
For English and Spanish language literacy theme bags.
Rogue Valley Chorale - $1,000
Marketing support for choristers program.
Rogue World Music - $1,500
Supporting music education programs in local schools.
ScienceWorks - $2,000
Funding for World Music Day, connected to the exhibit Wild Music.
SMART Read - $3,000
For culturally relevant books to be used during SMART reading time, and shared with families and children.
SOPTV - $1,500
In support of the Student Showcase program, which features students from throughout southern Oregon.
Southern Oregon Historical Society - $2,600
In support of the educational programs at Hanley Farm.
Southern Oregon University Youth Programs - $3,000
In support of Konaway Nika Tillicum, a residential program for Native high school students.
These grants are made possible by a Cultural Participation Grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust, supporting the arts, heritage and humanities.
