Jackson County Cultural Coalition 2022 Grantees
The Jackson County Cultural Coalition Board awarded a total of $31,500 in grants to the following Jackson County organizations for 2022 projects and activities:
Ashland Independent Film Festival – $2,500
Creating curriculum and teaching film production skills to area teachers, and expanding educational programming through outreach to students in Phoenix and Medford.
Anima Mundi – $3,000
Supporting “We Cannot Walk Alone,” which includes commissioning and producing new works by composers of color, along with a series of educational events.
Art Presence Art Center – $2,250
Establishing art classes, including subsidized scholarships for youth and adults.
Ashland Children’s Theatre – $3,000
Supporting the winter production of The Comedy of Errors and companion piece.
Ashland New Plays Festival – $2,500
Supporting anti-racist training for Ashland New Plays organization.
Boys and Girls Club – $2,000
Supporting Junior Picasso Club, a summer experience for youth in a variety of art mediums and techniques.
McKee Bridge Historical Society – $3.000
Research, design, fabricate and install 2 interpretive panels at Logtown Cemetery and at McKee Bridge.
Rogue Valley SMART Read - $3,000
For culturally relevant books for local children and families.
Rogue Valley Symphonic Band – $2,250
Supporting the Young Artist Competition and a special concert featuring music written by diverse composers who are under-represented in the band world.
Rogue World Music – $3,000
Supporting the 7th Annual Ashland World Music Festival: a free, family-friendly, multi-day, multi-event world music festival featuring seven performing groups/artists.
Southern Oregon Historical Society - $2,000
For the “Plant a Piece of History,” a community tree-planting event at Hanley Farm.
Southern Oregon Repertory Singers – $3,000
Supporting the development and implementation of plans to increase diversity, equity, and inclusivity in artistic programming, and composition of our chorus, board, staff and audience.
These grants are made possible by a Cultural Participation Grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust, supporting the arts, heritage and humanities.
