Jackson County Cultural Coalition 2024 Grantees

The Jackson County Cultural Coalition Board awarded a total of $34,650 in grants to the following Jackson County organizations for 2024 projects and activities:

A Greater Applegate - $1,200
Supporting a documentary film series on local issues such as forest health/fire mitigation, arts, and food and farm issues.

Anima Mundi - $2,500
Supporting an art exhibition of local Latinx youth in collaboration with the Unite Oregon Forward Youth program and presented in tandem with the world premiere of Dreams Have No Borders.

Ashland Children’s Theatre - $2,500
For the production of the summer Teen Mystery Theatre, which will introduce youth to American film noir style with a comedic twist.

Ashland New Plays Festival - $750
Supporting focused anti-bias training for festival readers, board, staff and volunteers.

Beautiful Music in the Park - $2,000
For two months of weekly performances of a piano quintet in Ashland’s Lithia Park.

Britt Music & Arts Festival - $1,750
Supporting BrittKids Koncerts, a free concert series to introduce children to music, dance and visual arts.

Chamber Music Concerts - $1,500
For concerts and outreach programs by the Brentano Quartet.

Gold Hill Community Development Organization - $1,800
Supporting Gold Hill’s Annual Gold Dust Day Heritage Celebration event.

Guitar Society - $1,500
For a musical outreach pilot program to bring a professional guitarist into local classrooms, senior centers, libraries and hospice facilities.

Historic Jacksonville - $1,850
Supporting public “Behind the Counter” tours at Jacksonville’s Beekman Bank Museum.

Jacksonville Community Center - $1,200
For a series of free family-friendly live music concerts.

Oregon Art on a Mission - $1,500
For art classes for youth to learn practical art techniques, foster their self expression and receive supplies to practice at home.

Rogue Gallery & Art Center - $1,000
Supporting the creation of a family-friendly participation activity to coincide with Third Friday receptions, to allow access to the arts for free.

Rogue Theater Company - $1,750
Supporting the production of Off Peak at Grizzly Peak Winery.

Rogue Valley Symphonic Band - $1,000
Supporting production of two Young Artist concerts, which feature a local high school student performing with the band.

Rogue World Music - $2,500
For the 9th annual Rogue World Music Festival, a free, family-friendly, multi-day event that features seven performing groups/artists.

Southern Oregon Historical Society - $1,500
For the “History in a Handbag” program, to augment Oregon history curriculum of regional elementary schools with educational artifacts and materials.

Southern Oregon PBS - $2,250
Supporting a program that teaches housing-insecure youth how to tell their own stories in video form, and that gives them a platform where they can decide how to tell their stories.

Southern Oregon Repertory Singers - $2,000
Supporting work with a consultant and the broader community to improve antiracism, diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

Talent Historical Society - $2,600
Supporting a dramatic production pertaining to Talent’s history and involving local residents.
